Enzyme ImmunoAssay (ELISA) for the qualitative determination of IgA antibodies to Chlamydia Trachomatis in human plasma and sera. The product is intended for the follow-up of patients showing pathologies referable to Chl. Trachomatis infection.
Micro-plates are coated with a species-specific polypeptide derived from C.trachomatis major outer membrane antigen. In the 1st incubation, the solid phase is treated with diluted samples and anti-C.trachomatis IgA are captured, if present, by the antigens. After washing out all the other components of the sample, in the 2nd incubation bound anti-C.trachomatis IgA are detected by the addition of anti hIgA antibody, labelled with peroxidase (HRP). The enzyme captured on the solid phase, acting on the substrate/chromogen mixture, generates an optical signal that is proportional to the amount of anti-C.trachomatis IgA antibodies present in the sample. IgA in the sample are then determined by a cut-off value able to discriminate between the negative and the positive population.Interferences due to IgG are blocked by means of a Neutralizing Reagent directly added to the sample in the well.
