Project mission

The project aims at establishing a regional centre of excellence devoted to the implementation of a fast and effective reaction to bio emergencies thanks to the design of adaptive diagnostic solutions for the treatment of emergent pathologies. In particular, the clinical studies focus on specific disease related to tropical virus and parasitosis, such as Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika, endemic of South America and South Asia regions. The first step foresees the identification of valid bioreagents to be used to determine a differential diagnosis which will be carried out thanks to the development of a lab on chip platform with a low cost and ready to use approach. The final output of the project consists in an efficient medical kit that can be adapted to specific needs such as the early clinical analysis in rural areas where health structures are not available.
